Medications can affect appearance and invalidate observations which are used as indicia of intoxication. At the same time they are not “…an intoxicating liquor, narcotic, hallucinogenic, or habit producing drug…” when taken in therapeutic amounts as prescribed. Only the treating physician is qualified to determine the therapeutic dose of a medication for his patient.
